About Crafxzen

Crafxzen is a small, intention-driven shop specializing in handcrafted woven potholders and one-of-a-kind tie-dye goods.

The story begins with my grandmother.

When I was little, she gave me a simple potholder loom kit. I spent hours weaving potholders and gifting them to family members, never imagining that the same loom would still be part of my life decades later.

More than 40 years later, I’m still using that very loom.

I recently discovered cotton loops that are far higher quality than the ones I used as a child — softer, sturdier, and easier to work with. I began weaving again as a way to unplug, slow down, and take a true mental health break. What started as a calming practice quickly became something I wanted to share.

Alongside weaving, I also create tie-dye pieces — a craft I’ve loved since my teenage years. Each tie-dye item is dyed individually in its own batch, making every piece completely unique.

Where It’s Made

All Crafxzen items are custom made by me in my upstate New York home, surrounded by nature at the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. The pace is slow, the process is intentional, and every piece reflects that care.

The Process

Woven Potholders
Each potholder is handmade using an old-school 18-loop by 18-loop weaving loom — the same loom my grandmother gave me when I was little. Every one is woven by hand, loop by loop.

Tie-Dye Items
All tie-dye pieces are dyed by me, one at a time. No two are ever exactly alike.

Materials

Potholders are made with 100% cotton loops, produced by Harrisville Designs in Harrisville, New Hampshire. All tie-dye items are 100% cotton. Potholders are 100% made in the Northeastern United States.
